Student of Life Becomes Master D.O.T. Connector
Is it fate that I learned to live life in Layman’s terms? No, it is intentional!
My childhood dream was to be a teacher. Who knew that I’d ultimately get there, although not in the traditional sense? It only took 40 years. The search for my own truth is what ultimately brought me to the amazing discovery that changed my life, and has since helped to change countless more lives.
My journey of experiences – the good and bad combined – created who I am today. As Oprah says, “Your life is speaking to you every day, all the time—and your job is to listen up and find the clues.” On some level, I must have already known that to be true, when I chose to move directly into a sales career after I graduated from high school. I have always been a self starter, so I chose to set my own ceiling in spite of those who told me to take the ‘safe route’. I knew then that I wanted to achieve more out of life, but just wasn’t certain how to get there. And I never would have dreamed that I would add Keynoter to my résumé. In fact, the thought of speaking in front of an audience made me quake in my shoes!
In 2005, my passion for life-long learning brought me to an affiliation with Pacific Accord, and dramatically changed my life. I had an opportunity to become educated on the complexities of cognitive psychology, got involved in the direct sales industry, and learned to successfully juggle two businesses, which also launched my début into the speaking world.
I was very fortunate to meet Darren LaCroix, who showed me that you can make people laugh while helping them learn. He is one of many of my mentors that I am so grateful to seeing potential in my abilities before I saw it in myself! I finally discovered, or I should say I recognized, how much I thrive on connecting, and that, combined with my desire to make an impact gives me all the courage I need to keep going.
Pushing comfort zones used to be terrifying, but as a perpetual student of personal development, I have learned that it is my job. I have earned the title of the Bear Poker – if I am making you feel a little uncomfortable it means I am hitting a button you may choose to change, and doing my job exactly as I should. Besides, if I can push my own comfort zones so drastically, then so can everyone!
Jack Canfield says: “We all have a story.” It is easy to look back on mine and see how it all fits. Now I am in a position to share information that has transformed my life, in the hope that I can make it easier for everyone else. I am living life in Layman’s terms, and look forward to sharing my story with you!
