When an opportunity presents itself, you should take advantage of it and that’s what Dan Thompson did. As an avid dog lover (and owner), Dan noticed the lack of cage-less open play doggie daycare facilities. A conversation over dinner with his sister sparked the idea of Dog Pawz.
Dan’s background in sales and experience in flipping houses didn’t quite prepare him for all that was in store to successfully launch his first location in 2010. Since then, Dog Pawz has expanded to two other locations including the Westport/West Plaza and the downtown/Crossroads areas. Both locations also provide professional dog grooming services including self-serve dog wash facilities.

Dog Pawz has been recognized three years in a row as the BEST doggie daycare facility in the KC metro area. It’s no wonder as clients rave about the care and play time their companions receive in this 24- hour facility. There’s even a doggie cam to check in while you’re at work or on vacation.

In his effort to give back, Dan sits on the board of directors for the Great Plains SPCA. He is very active in the dog adoption community and prides himself in connecting people and pets.
