You don’t need another plan. You need to stop sabotaging your own momentum.

Truthtime….

You can have the most beautiful brand colors, a mapped-out funnel, and a 90-day launch plan…

But if you’re still not seeing traction in your business, it’s probably not because of what you don’t know.

It’s because of what you keep doing—over and over again—that’s holding you back.

You’re working hard. But not moving forward.

You’ve invested in courses. Downloaded all the freebies. Maybe even blocked out a week to “finally” get your offer out there…

Yet, things still feel stuck. Sales are slow. Growth feels patchy. And you’re wondering: What am I missing?

After coaching entrepreneurs since 2017, launching 40+ offers, and deep-diving into more marketing plans than I can count…

I can tell you—there are three sneaky mistakes that almost everyone makes when they’re starting a business, trying to grow their online business, or trying to land more coaching clients.

They don’t look like a big deal.

But they quietly stall momentum, sabotage sales, and suck the life out of your business.

Let’s fix that, shall we?

✅ Mistake #1: Hiding Behind Planning

AKA: The Procrastination You Can Justify

You know the drill:

  • Tweak the colors one more time
  • Build a mood board
  • Map your funnel for the 47th time
  • Spend hours organizing your Asana board

It feels productive… but it’s actually just what I call creative avoidance.

It’s something I used to teach when I was leading performance mindset workshops in the early days of my business. I saw it all the time: brilliant people who look like they’re working—but they’re secretly avoiding the risk of actually selling something.

It’s not about laziness. It’s about fear.

We want safety. Control. Certainty.
And planning feels safe.

But you’ll never think your way into a perfect offer.
You have to sell your way into it.

Ask yourself:

  • What am I really avoiding by staying in planning mode?
  • What would happen if I launched messy but focused?

✅ Mistake #2: Selling What You Want to Deliver

This one hits very close to home.

Back when I transitioned out of corporate and stepped into the online space in 2020, I knew how to deliver a keynote. I knew how to lead workshops. Coaching business developers…all set.

What I didn’t know? How to define my niche in the online world.

So like a lot of new business owners, I built offers based on what I thought people needed. I leaned on my expertise instead of using research. I didn’t know how to talk to the market. I didn’t know what resonated.

And it showed.

Because here’s the truth:
The market doesn’t reward effort.
It rewards resonance.

That gap—between what I wanted to deliver and what people actually wanted to buy—was what inspired me to create the AI Dream Client Builder (once I figured it out for myself).

This microcourse is the first thing I now give my Society members and private clients.

Because once you know exactly who your dream client is and how to talk to them?

Messaging gets easier. Offers get clearer. And sales? They start to click.

It also becomes the foundation for building out your signature offer formula. Hint…it’s not a 1:1 offer but the power of three offers strategically created to meet your clients where they are at.

I’ve seen it unlock “aha” moments for clients again and again because it shifts everything—from how you write your bio to how you structure your customer journey.

And here’s the cool part: once I nailed that piece, it opened up something else I didn’t expect…

SEO. But make it doable.

About a month ago on a call, I was working through what I now call Perfect Fit Keywords—a system I developed to help my clients find the right keywords for the right platforms. Because what works on Instagram isn’t what’s going to work on LinkedIn. And what gets attention on your podcast title may not rank on Google.

So I started calling it Layman’s Terms SEO—because it’s not about getting thousands of random clicks. It’s about showing up strategically where your dream clients are already searching.

Pair that with ChatGPT?

You’re tapping into your dream client’s brain and marketing with precision.

Want to Get Inside Your Dream Client’s Head (Without Guessing)?

You can grab both of these microcourses:

AI Dream Client Builder: Learn how to define your dream client, dial in your messaging, and lay the foundation for your Power of Three Signature Offer™.

Perfect Fit Keywords: My “layman’s terms” approach to SEO + visibility, so you know exactly which keywords to use—and where.

These two tools are momentum starters.

They’ll help you build offers that actually sell—and attract clients who are already looking for what you do.

✅ Mistake #3: Constantly Switching Strategies

One week it’s Reels.

The next, it’s a 5-day challenge.

Then comes a podcast, a webinar, maybe a Pinterest push…

You try a new “this is the thing” tactic every month, hoping this time it’ll work.

Sound familiar?

I see it all the time with clients. They send out a few emails, launch to a list of 70 people, and when the sales don’t pour in immediately? They panic.

But here’s the truth:
One launch is not a verdict. It’s data.

Especially if you’ve got fewer than 100 people on your email list.

And just because someone doesn’t buy on day one doesn’t mean they’re not going to buy. In fact, most sales happen at the last minute. It’s human behavior.

You can tweak messaging mid-launch. You can repurpose content. But what you can’t do is give up every time something doesn’t go viral.

Strategy is what grounds you when the algorithm shifts, the launch flops, or the doubt creeps in.

Ask yourself:

  • Am I giving this strategy enough time to actually work?
  • Am I tracking what’s working—or just reacting emotionally?
  • Do I know how to interpret my data?

(And hey, I have another blog on that coming soon. Placeholder link here to “Why Your Offer Isn’t Converting.”)

Here’s What to Do Instead

You don’t need to hustle harder.
You don’t need another Canva template or one more masterclass.

You need to get honest.

  • Where are you avoiding risk?
  • Where are you creating content instead of conversions?
  • Where are you solving a problem you care about—not one your audience does?

That’s the work.
And when you’re ready to do it?

You’ll stop spinning and start scaling.
