It’s no secret that marketing is one of the most important aspects of any business, but it can also be one of the most time-consuming and expensive (depending on the tactics you use). But it doesn’t have to be. In fact, there are a lot of great (and easy to implement) marketing strategies that you can use for your business that won’t break the bank.

In this video, we’ll show you some effective (and easy-to-implement) low-cost marketing strategies you can use to grow your business online.

The show notes are below.

If you’ve ever wondered how to market your online coaching business without spending a lot of money, you’ve come to the right place. In this video, I’ll show you how to use low-cost marketing techniques to get the most out of your marketing budget. So whether you’re just starting out or you’re looking for ways to optimize your online marketing efforts, these tips will help.

Optimize Your Online Presence

The first step in your marketing strategy should be to optimize your online presence. Statistics show 57% of a purchasing decision is made online before anyone reaches out.

  • Your best opportunities can happen in the least likely places in today’s online world.
  • The problem is that too many try to market their business and forget to check the small details that make a BIG difference first. The easiest way to optimize is to think of the 3 C’s. Your online presence should be clear, consistent, and easy to connect to.
  • When it comes to your website, make sure it is clear and easy to navigate.

Your content should be well-written and keyword-rich, and your design should be clean and professional. Also, be sure to optimize your social media profiles for your business with a strong value statement, great profile photo and working links. I find broken links and mixed messages regularly when I do visibility audits.

ACTION: Block 30 minutes to review your website and social channels so you can make the quick fixes that could be costing you opportunities.

Reach a Wider Audience with the Right Content

Another great way to market your business on a budget is by using social media. Platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube offer great opportunities to connect with potential customers and clients. When you’re strategic with your content, you can reach a much larger audience than you would through traditional marketing methods.

The goal is not to be on every platform but be on the platforms where your ideal clients are spending the most time. You want to consider your audience’s awareness stages and write content that speaks to all of them.

Once you choose your platforms, you need to be consistent with how often you post, or you risk the algorithm not rewarding you with your content being seen. Once you have a strategy in place, create valuable, helpful, and engaging content.

If you’re just starting out with marketing your online business, focus on one platform at a time to learn it fully before adding another. That will help you be more consistent and get better results.

When it comes to content, email marketing is also relatively inexpensive to implement and can produce big results for your business because you take the conversation offline and can more easily nurture your audience as your list grows.

It’s important to remember that marketing is about building relationships and trust with potential clients, not just marketing your business. So before posting content online, be intentional and thoughtful with the content you create and share.

Get Involved with Online Communities Related to Your Niche

Another inexpensive and very effective way to market your business is to get involved with online communities related to your niche. Facebook has an abundance of niche-specific groups you can join and interact with.

  • Do a quick search within the platform based on the keywords your target audience searches for.
  • Notice which groups come up first, how many members they have and how often they post.
  • Once you join, then get involved in the conversation by skimming the posts to find ones you can add value to with a quick comment.

By taking 10 minutes out of each day to interact with other’s groups, you can increase your visibility and you never know when an opportunity will happen.

You can also create your own online community if you don’t find what you’re looking for. That takes a lot more of your time if you want to build it correctly, but it can pay off.

Whether it’s a private Facebook group, Meetup, LinkedIn group, Slack channel or even an online forum – these are all excellent marketing opportunities to reach potential customers and clients.

Once you join a group or community, introduce yourself and start participating in the conversations to get your name out there.

Use Blogging to Your Advantage

Blogs and podcasts are both hot marketing channels right now and can help you bring potential leads into your online business. Blogging allows you to share helpful, valuable content related to your training and establish yourself as an industry expert in the process.

If you just thought, I don’t have time to write blogs, when you use the right tools, creating blog content (that you can easily repurpose for multiple channels) can be a breeze! I used to push back on writing blogs until I discovered you can take one piece of content like a blog or a video script and easily turn it into multiple pieces of content in minutes.

Jasper AI is my favorite writing tool. It helps me to write a blog in 2 minutes! My target audience loves the content because it’s more in-depth than a simple social post, and Google loves my site because I’m posting blogs consistently. It can also bring brand opportunities when you do it consistently.

All it takes is some time and creativity; when you use the right tools, creating content can be a breeze!

Connect with Other Business Owners and Collaborate on Joint Projects

Another effective marketing strategy is to connect with other business owners and collaborate on joint projects. Sharing audiences is an easy way to increase your visibility and market your business on a budget.

Find other business owners that offer services related to your niche and reach out to them with an idea for a collaboration. Local and global opportunities exist when you look for them!

Collaborations can come in many forms. The easiest is interviews on podcasts, in Facebook groups, and video content. You can also create content together, such as posts on each other’s blogs or podcasts. Running joint webinars or workshops and hosting events is also a great strategy. It takes more time to put these together but it can pay off in dividends.

Summits and bundles offer even more opportunities once you have a free and low-ticket offer put together. The first one I participated in added 54 people to my email list that purchased the bundle offer. This means they are willing to invest in their business and, when nurtured properly, can lead to additional sales.

Bottom Line

Marketing is key to any successful business, but it doesn’t have to be expensive! With a little research and creativity, you can find ways to market your online coaching business without breaking the bank. Spend some time thinking about which marketing tactics work best for your business, create a marketing plan and start taking action. You’ll be surprised at how much you can do with just a little effort!
